COFDM Modem - Ofdm Physical Layer design and implementation to achieve the increasing high performancein wireless networks technologies.
IEEE 802.16e WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is broadband wireless communication technologies that provide very high speed data over long distance and the core technique for fourth-generation (4G) wireless mobile communication. MIMOWAVES Technologies has built a Mobile WiMAX PHY IP core transceiver which is targeted for FPGA devices of altera and Xilinx .OFDM Physical Layer :The physical layer transceiver is based on OFDMA (Orthogonal frequency division Multiple accesses) which uses adaptive modulation technique such as BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM, 64-QAM and it is compliance with the IEEE 802.16e-2005 standard. MIMOWAVES has built a Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) digital IP core for SDR solution which runs on Altera / Xilinx FPGA or DSP device Platform .
The FPGA based OFDM MODEM that are widely used in wireless communication systems, for example, WiFi ,WiMAX and 4G cellular networks. OFDM is a multicarrier technique in which the data is encoded on number of sub-carrier frequencies, allowing information to be transmitted in parallel. The sub-carrier signals are orthogonal to each other and they are selected to reduce interference with adjacent frequencies, significantly improving the ability to cope with severe channel conditions including frequency selective fading due to multipath. The MIMOWAVES's Error correction algorithms enhance the modems ability to achieve high performance communication on the SDR platform.
